Ok, I was majorly excited when Obama won!!! I kept repeating to myself,"He won, he won, we have our next president." It didn't sink in until the next day. When it sunk, it was really amazing. Obama won 349 votes- that's a LANDSLIDE victory. For instance, in 2000, Bush only got 271 electoral votes.
McCain's biggest problem was President Bush. Most of the country strongly disliked Bush, and always compared McCain to him. I think that if McCain was elected he would have been very similar to Bush and getting this country out from under 12 years of screw-ups would have been much harder than eight years. McCain's policies were, in my opinion, flawed, unhelpful, and quite terrible. Obama is a new, fresh face in American politics and will change the rest of the world's opinion of the U.S. Probably the most positive thing about McCain was his concession speech. It was thoughtful, kind, insightful and good. I also liked Obama's acceptance speech. It felt proud, nice, and majestic. A wonderful speech by our 44th president.

Wow I didnt know how well someone could not now politics. First of all people didnt dislike Mcain they disliked bush, I know the republicans screwed up for eight years, but chooseing obama because he saids he can fix things isnt the answer. Mcain is beter then Obama dont even bring up bush or the republicans, because some of the worst presidents were democrats but some were also republicans, so dont bring up the past keep the present.

Really, he will fix things and if you keep an open mind, you may find out he's a wonderful leader. Many people have already realized this. I will bring up Bush and I will bring up the republicans. McCain's part of that party and he's just like BUSH. Party Boy's comment about the bad presidents was unhelpful and contradicting to your statement "dont bring up the past". Obama won, Obama will be a great president. Deal with it.
I know how you feel. I was so exited I remember the moment vividly. I totally agree with the whole blog. I think that McCain really did screw up. I think that he didn't do well in the debates, and that his ideas were really lacking in substanse and relavence.
I agree with your happiness that obama won, but there is no need to hate-on mccain. He is a good man, and although I don't agree with his political views, I think there is no need to critisize him, and that he deserves some respect.
